Natural Remedies against Internal and External Hemorrhoids


 
Hemorrhoids or piles are conditions that normally affect individuals at the age of 50. However, such condition can also affect younger people where they experience having swollen hemorrhoidal veins in or outside their anal canal. When hemorrhoidal veins within the anus started to swell, these are referred to as internal hemorrhoids. Swollen hemorrhoidal veins outside the anal canal, on the other hand, are known as external hemorrhoids. Individuals can also experience both conditions at the same time. Fortunately, there are various treatment options that can be very helpful in dealing with hemorrhoids conditions. If you do not want to take medications for hemorrhoids or the condition is too mild for a surgical procedure, you can opt for natural remedies to help you deal with the problem and relieve the pain and the swelling. You can do this by trying the following natural remedies:
  • Go for sitz bath to relieve the symptoms of the condition. Soak your bottom into the bath for at least 10 to 15 minutes, 2 to 3 times daily.
  • Avoid using dry toilet paper when cleaning the area to prevent the condition from worsening.
  • Apply ice pack on the affected area to reduce the swelling and to numb the area in order to relieve pain and itching.
  • Consume mashed bananas and warm milk to relieve internal hemorrhoids.
  • Opt for regular exercises. You can do this by simply going for a 20 to 30-minute walk to improve bowel movement and reduce strain when moving bowels.
  • Applying chamomile ointment to the swollen veins can also be helpful against the condition. Chamomile contains natural anti-inflammatory properties that are helpful in reducing the redness, irritation and itching.
These are just some of the helpful natural remedies that you can opt for against hemorrhoid conditions. Aside from these, it is also necessary to follow a regular diet plan that is high on fiber to keep the stools bulk and soft and prevent excessive straining, thus preventing the development of hemorrhoids.
